The Imperial Wizard of the KKK is Outraged

Yesterday, Bradley Jenkins, the Imperial Wizard of the Klu Klux Klan spoke out about the infamous KKK Halloween costume worn by a Virginian child . The wizard reported his outrage that Jessica Black of Virginia dressed her son in KKK ceremonial garb for Halloween. The Wizard stated that “none of this is a joke” and the mother should have chosen an alternative costume for her child instead of dressing him like an Imperial Wizard. It’s tough not to think about the word “joke” when a group brands their leaders as wizards. What is this Harry Potter?

Many people were outraged, but exactly why would an organization with abhorrence for everyone non-white even care about this kid’s costume? The mother received a massive quantity of hateful and disparaging responses from the general public which prompted her to make a formal statement to the press expressing her admiration for the Wizards. Black stated, “it’s supposed to be white with white, black with black, man with woman and all of that. That’s what the KKK stands for.”

As everyone derisively rotate their eyes in back of their heads and label her a nut case, people are wondering about the values she is teaching her son. It is her right to raise her child to be a hateful Wizard, but it won’t benefit the child when he reaches an age of understanding. Who will teach this child about acceptance and tolerance?

  1. It’s hard not to feel hopeless when I see things like that. And I guess I’m naive. I had no idea the KKK was even around and “real” anymore. I hope the kid encounters enough situations in life to know that his mother, while she probably does love him in the only way she knows how, was wrong to raise him with those ideas. I hope that he does not encounter only situations and people that reinforce to him the values his mother instills. At some point I hope he does enough soul searching to realize we are all made of the same stuff and come to appreciate and value the differences all of our cultures and backgrounds bring to all life.

    1. Yeah, its so sad that the mother has those values because life is not all about hate, its about loving one another. I just hope someone gets to him in time to teach him some morality.

    1. I think any group formed on the premise of hate should disappear. I just don’t understand how people can’t put so much energy into being hateful. But I thought this was an interesting story. I feel so bad for the little boy.
